    @LoganNeese Though you posted that comment a year ago, I hope you have been informed since that everything you said was totally unfounded, non-factual and contradicts science and medicine.

    My dad has arthritis – He was told specifically to ignore a "new hype" (back in 2006) about citrus fruits being harmful to those with arthritis and told him to even try Mediterranean foods because of the use of fish and fruit being so popular in Mediterranean cuisine.
    Nightshade plants are beneficial to arthritis, so, I encourage everyone to listen to science, listen to doctors and hear the facts from their mouths, not from an internet forum or a magazine. You'll be doing your own health a great big favour.

    Why is the fact that tomatoes have less sugar than watermelon seen as a positive thing? There is nothing wrong with fructose sugars, in fact it's the best form of quick release energy out there. At the upper end of the scale, many top endurance athletes claim to eat 400g+ of fructose every day.

    Yeah, except the ketchup that they serve in schools is pumped full of chemicals and HFCS. So by the time it gets to the kids plates, it probably has lost all of its nutritional benefits. Thats why America has the highest obesity epidemic.. people think they can eat processed ketchup and count it as a veggie. Its sad, really.

    The "ketchup is a vegetable" quip is our somewhat snarky response to school lunch policy here in the states. In some school district, the ketchup served with tater tots or fries counts as a veggie!
